The Drift - Experiences of Oil Keynote Lecture by Kathryn Yusoff - Live Stream

Join us for a morning live stream of the Keynote lecture by Kathryn Yusoff, (Professor of Inhuman Geography in the School of Geography at Queen Mary, University of London) hosted by Tosh Ahkit.
This live streaming is part of the online conference Experiences of Oil, that will be running from 22–24 November 2020. The conference will be held at Stavanger Art Museum and Curatorial Practise, Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design at the University of Bergen, Norway.
This conference will be convened and moderated by Anne Szefer Karlsen (curator and professor Curatorial Practice, University of Bergen) and Helga Nyman (curator, Stavanger Art Museum).
Anne Szefer Karlsen visited Aotearoa earlier this year as part of The Drift - Kōrewa , a new curatorial education platform distributed by Artspace Aotearoa in collaboration with partners throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and the international arts community.

The aim of the conference is to initiate a discussion about the social, cultural, and emotional aspects of oil by bringing together professional communities and individuals in a collective exploratory conversation.
The conference will begin in the evening of November 22 (Monday 23 November, morning) with a live performance by artist Anna Ihle and a keynote lecture by Kathryn Yusoff (video link), Professor of Inhuman Geography in the School of Geography at Queen Mary, University of London. A local audience are invited to Stavanger Art Museum to take part in this live event (limited tickets available, please notice the separate ticket category for this event). This part of the conference will be also be digitally available.
On November 23 and 24 the conference will be hosted online, with the possibility of active participation from those attending.
Participation is free. You can sign up by booking your ticket before November 16.
