Belgian artist Ann Veronica Janssens created 'propositions' or 'interventions' rather than artworks. Her installations based on the relation to time and space. Through the uses of light, artificial fog, projections and sound, Janssens' work touches on experiencing the ungraspable.

Janssens' 'propositions' make the everyday invisibles, visible, by materialising the elements and playing with our perception; they are phenomenological experiences intervening with the familiar.

Ann Veronica Janssens (born 1956) lives and works in Brussels. This was her first one-person exhibition in New Zealand. Other exhibitions include Rundlederwelten at Martin-Gropius-Bau, Berlin, Ecstasy at MOCA, Los Angeles and Experiencing Duration at the Biennale d'art contemporain de Lyon 2005. She represented the French-speaking Belgian Community at the 48th Venice Biennale in 1999 and participated in the Biennale of Sydney in 1998.
