Canvas Fabrication with Rea Burton
This lab offers an introduction to processes of canvas fabrication.
Painter Rea Burton will guide participants through the process of stretching and preparing canvas for painting, with a focussed discussion on the history and conceptual weighting of painting substrates.
Participants will fabricate and keep a finished canvas, using a range of techniques. Materials will be provided by The Kit.

Biography
Rea Burton (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Pākehā) is an artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau . She holds an MFA Elam School of Fine Arts (2019) and regularly exhibits nationally and internationally.
