2021 Texts

This year the Reading Room will publish texts from the the Chartwell Trust New Commissions Writers: Anoushka Coutler, Rahul Hendriksen, Ruby Macomber, Kieran Mclean, and Roro.

This programme supports early-career voices to produce new texts that contribute to cultural criticism and contemporary art discourse in Aotearoa.

Throughout the year the Reading Room will publish texts annotated by the writers drawn from a larger reader the group has been close-reading as part of the year-long programme. At the end of the year their cultural criticism texts will also be published.
